UNE joins the OREVE to promote the energy transition in Spain

30/09/2024

The Spanish Association for Standardisation, UNE, has joined the Residential Energy Efficiency Observatory in Spain (OREVE) with the aim of driving Spain's energy transition and decarbonization goals.

One of the priorities of the Spanish standardisation body is to support the ecological and energy transition of the Spanish production fabric, in line with its 2025 Strategy.

The OREVE was created to collect, analyse and share information on the electrical upgrading of homes, in the context of the comprehensive renovation, in order to support decarbonisation, the energy transition and improve security. The OREVE highlights the importance of electrical upgrading in homes to meet the energy efficiency objectives established by the Government, the autonomous communities and the European Union. With more than 80% of homes in Spain built before 2002, the OREVE highlights the need to modernise electrical installations in order to become carbon neutral by 2050, taking advantage of the comprehensive rehabilitation promoted by the public administrations and European grants.

The OREVE groups together different organisations in the electrical installation sector; its members include ADIME, AFME, AMBIAFME, AMBILAMP, ANFALUM, APIEM, CONAIF and FACEL. Along with UNE, it also collaborates with numerous partners such as DEMI, AEDIVE, AFEC, AMETIC, ANESE, ANERR, CGATE, COGITI, COIT and FENITEL, many of which are members of the Spanish standardisation body. It also sponsors IFEMA Matelec.

UNE comprises over 500 members, representing practically the whole of Spain's industrial network. These include more than 200 large associations.

UNE is a global organisation whose purpose is to contribute to the shared progress of society and the creation of a safer, more sustainable and competitive world.
