UNE receives the "Commitment to Safety" award presented by COGITIM

08/09/2025

The Official College of Industrial Technical Engineers of Madrid (COGITIM) has awarded the Spanish Association for Standardization (UNE) the “Commitment to Safety” award, in recognition of its strong, continuous, and exemplary commitment to creating a safer, more sustainable, and competitive industrial environment.

The award was presented during the ceremony celebrating the 175th anniversary of the Industrial Technical Engineering degree. Alfredo Berges, president of UNE, had the honour of accepting this recognition.

With this award, COTIGIM recognizes UNE's work as a backbone for public-private collaboration in the industrial sector, as well as its essential contribution to risk control, environmental protection, and the promotion of the Sustainable Development Goals..

UNE and COGITIM are working together to continue building a safer and more sustainable industry. In this regard, on 25 June, standard UNE 202013, jointly prepared, was presented, which lays out the general maintenance requirements for low-voltage electrical installations. This standard provides maintenance companies and installers with a useful and effective tool to improve the safety, reliability, and service of installations.

COGITIM’s strategic vision and strong support for standardization, as a benchmark in promoting a safe, modern, and efficient industry, serve as an essential tool for industrial development and for the daily work of industrial technical engineers.
