24/09/2025

The Spanish Association for Standardization, UNE, participated in the General Meeting of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), held in Delhi, which brought together nearly 3,500 experts from around the world in the field of electrical engineering.

For more than a week, the Spanish delegation from UNE contributed to international discussions on smart standards, sustainable electric transport, digital standards development, artificial intelligence governance, and digital engineering. All this in a climate of collaboration driven by the hosts, Bureau of Indian Standards.

At the meeting, the IEC reaffirmed its commitment to sustainability through the development of high-quality, market-driven, digital, and globally applicable standards, along with conformity assessment activities. The event also underscored the success of the IEC Young Professionals Program, which facilitates the incorporation of new generations into standardization.

The UNE delegation in Delhi consisted of Javier García Díaz, Director General of UNE; Mónica Sanzo Gil, Director of International Cooperation and Relations; and Miguel Ángel Aranda, Head of International Relations.

Its participation at this international forum strengthens UNE's role as a key player at the international level in contributing to the development of a more innovative, sustainable and competitive industry.
