Yesterday the Spanish Association for Standardization, UNE, held the first face-to-face meeting of its Construction Advisory Committee of 2023, attended by more than 30 representatives from relevant Spanish sector associations, Public Administrations and other leading organisations closely related to the construction sector.
Prior to the Advisory Committee meeting, a session was held on the review of the Construction Products Regulation and the CPR-Acquis process initiated by the European Commission, which aims to review the mandates of the different families of construction products in force to date.
This session was attended by Oscar Nieto of the European Commission (DG-GROW), who connected remotely to the meeting to report on the particularities, progress and current status of both initiatives.
Next, Jorge Jimeno from the Subdirectorate General for Industrial Quality and Safety of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism, and Marta Sánchez from the General Technical Secretariat of the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, had the opportunity to comment on the monitoring and management of these initiatives at national level. The attendees followed the talks with the utmost attention and actively participated in an interesting debate in this regard.
After the session, the Construction Advisory Committee resumed its usual activity at a meeting during which ongoing and future actions were discussed. In this regard, several working groups were relaunched to address the impact of standardisation in areas such as the comprehensive renovation of buildings, or the installation of construction products.
Similarly, a review was carried out of the new developments related to the sector, including those related to digitisation, the circular economy and other matters of a more cross-cutting nature.
The meeting, participated in by the Chair of the CCC, Luis Rodulfo, Chairman of CEPCO and UNE Vice-president, was also attended by representatives from AFELMA, AFME, ANAIP, ANDECE, ANDIMAT, AENOR, ANEFHOP, ANFACESA, ANFALUM, ASEFAVE, ATEDY, CALSIDER, CEPCO, CONAIF, ENAC, FACEL, FdA, HISPALYT, IETcc-CSIC, OFICEMEN, SEOPAN, TECNIFUEGO, MITMA and MINCOTUR.
