This week, the VID-EXPERT Project was presented in the framework of the conference 'Technology, training and wine: United against climate change', organised by the Spanish Wine Federation (FEV) at the headquarters of the Spanish Association for Standardization, UNE.
The VID-EXPERT Project, coordinated by UNE, is developing a smart carbon footprint management system in the wine sector. Participating UNE members: CEIGRAM of the UPM, FEV, INTERGIA, IRTA, SATEC and the University of Zaragoza.
Xavier Bellon, head of UNE's International Cooperation Projects, presented and moderated the round table 'VID-EXPERT: Smart carbon footprint management system', particpated in by some of the members of the Project's Operational Group. They presented the progress made to develop this smart system to diagnose the carbon footprint and quantify climate change in the wine sector, through a digital tool that not only facilitates emissions quantification but also allows adequate mitigation measures to be offered.
The VID-EXPERT Project is financed with European Union funds, which are part of the National Rural Aid Programme (PNRD) of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food.
