Standards for lighting outdoor and indoor spaces

​​​​​​​​​The Spanish Association for Standardization and the Spanish Association of Lighting Manufacturers held the UNE-ANFALUM Meeting on 25 April: "Standards for lighting outdoor and indoor spaces". Experts from the lighting, facility management, engineering, Public Administration, universities and standardisation sectors met to present the standards of the UNE Committee on light, illumination and lighting posts (CTN-UNE 72), aimed at guaranteeing the safety, quality and comfort of lighting in interior spaces, buildings and infrastructures.

ANFALUM, UNE member, leads the CTN-UNE 72, which addresses horizontal aspects related to lighting and interior and exterior lighting, the definition and classification of the colour characteristics or the posts and columns used in lighting.

The Committee develops technical standards on the characteristics of lighting in indoor or outdoor workplaces, sports arenas, emergency evacuation routes, tunnels, natural lighting, energy efficiency, and more.

Attending the meeting were Alfredo Berges (UNE and ANFALUM), Paloma García (UNE), Ricardo Pomatta (ANFALUM), Moisés Domingo (Luxintec and CTN-UNE 72), Álvaro López (TRILUX and IFMA España), Héctor Fernández (Signify), Carlos Sierra (Universidad Politécnica de Cataluña), Marc Ballbè (Asselum), Diego Antón (Carandini), Juan Carlos Monteagudo (Signify), Jesús María Espinosa (ZEMPER), José Lens (DAISALUX) and Joana García (BEG and IFMA España).

The Spanish Association of Lighting Manufacturers, ANFALUM, constituted in 1981, is a founding member of UNE, and participates in the Governing Committee. It directs the development of key standards to enhance the competitiveness of its members. It represents 87 Spanish manufacturers of luminaires, light sources, components, lighting regulation and control systems, lighting poles and columns.
