The UNE High-Level Forum for Universities has been formed

23/05/2024

Education on standardisation is becoming increasingly important at European and global level. The current European standardisation strategy dedicates one of its five main areas to training and is promoting actions such as hosting academic conferences on standardisation, the development of training material and the involvement of teachers.

Similarly, the European Guiding Principles for Knowledge Valorisation cover similar actions, promoting the use of standardisation to transfer R&D&I results that benefit society.

In this context, the 16 Spanish universities that are members of UNE have decided to promote institutional education on standardisation in the university field. The initial meeting of the High-Level Forum for Universities was held at the UNE headquarters on 16 May 2024.

This Forum will be attended by representatives of the universities' governing bodies. The Forum will hold one or two annual meetings and its main aim is to promote standardisation following a high-impact training model.

The following universities participated in this initial meeting, both in person and remotely: University of Carlos III de Madrid; University of Burgos; University of Cantabria; University of Malaga; University of Navarre; University of Salamanca; University of Santiago de Compostela; University of Vigo; National Distance Education University; Polytechnic University of Madrid; Universidad Rey Juan Carlos; The Polytechnic University of Catalonia and the Polytechnic University of Valencia.
