UNE leads a new European standard to measure sustainable practices European factories

17/02/2025

As a standardisation partner of the ECOFACT R&D&i project, the Spanish Association for Standardisation (UNE), has led the development of a new normative document CEN Workshop Agreement (CWA) which provides European factories with a method to demonstrate their improvements in sustainability and the battle against climate change through key performance indicators.

This standard has been drawn up by a CEN Workshop consisting of 19 European experts from six countries.

The draft is subject to public consultation until 10 March and is available on the European Committee for Standardisation, CEN, website, under the title: Draft CWA for comment: 'Energy Management and Sustainable Manufacturing (EMSM) project in factories of industrial organisations'.

Comments can be sent to Marta Fernández ( mafernandez@une.org), the CEN Workshop secretary, using the corresponding form.
