The Spanish Association for Standardization, UNE, has published two new UNE Standards to promote the urban deployment of telecommunications networks: UNE 133100-6 and UNE 133100-7, which are part of the UNE 133100 Series on 'Infrastructure for telecommunications networks'.
These new standards have been prepared within the UNE Infrastructure Subcommittee (CTN-UNE 133/SC 1), chaired by the Secretary of State for Telecommunications and Digital Infrastructure, and coordinated by the Official Association of Telecommunication Engineers (COIT), with the participation of a further 42 entities in the telecommunications ecosystem.
The Secretary of State for Telecommunications and Digital Infrastructure, María González Veracruz, stated that “it is good news because we are uniting technical criteria and consistently optimizing the deployment of new technological connectivity elements. This results in better and more orderly urban planning, more precise and efficient work for operators, and better services and skills for citizens through smart cities".
For Alfredo Berges, UNE Chairman, “UNE standards provide an effective response to the major challenges facing society and Spain's economic sectors, such as digitization. They represent the government's firm support for the implementation of public policies".
