Alfredo Berges, President of the Spanish Association for Standardization, UNE, and Managing Director of the Spanish Association of Lighting Manufacturers (ANFALUM), has received the 2024 Miguel Ángel López de Egea Award for a lifetime of achievement.
This prestigious award is presented at EFICAM, a fair organized by APIEM (Professional Association of Employers of Electrical and Telecommunications Installations in Madrid) and Fevymar.
Alfredo Berges stated: “I am deeply honoured and happy to receive this Miguel Ángel López de Egea Award after more than 40 years working in the lighting industry and on an essential activity for the competitiveness of our sector: standardization.
I want to express my deep gratitude to Ángel Bonet, President of APIEM, for giving me this award. Together, we contribute to the shared progress of society and to building a safer, more sustainable and competitive world".
The meeting took place yesterday as part of the 8th edition of EFICAM (Exhibition and Forum of Installation and Distribution Companies of the Community of Madrid).
Alfredo Berges and Ángel Bonet were accompanied by Luis Collado, President of AECIM (Association of Companies of Metal Trade and Industry of Madrid).
Alfredo Berges has been a part of the lighting and standards industry for over 40 years.
Through his role in ANFALUM and as an active member of Lighting Europe, he has always been highly committed to the growth and competitiveness of the sector.
Moreover, as the President of UNE, his priority is to help society and Spain's economic sectors to overcome their greatest challenges. Standards promote innovation, digital transformation, exports and the circular economy in the lighting, electrical installation and telecommunications sectors.
These awards were created as a tribute to Miguel Ángel López de Egea, an advocate of EFICAM and a person with an extensive career in the electricity sector, who passed away in 2021.
Also honoured at the 2024 edition were the companies SIMON (Innovation Award), CIRCUTOR (Excellence Award) and EMRE (Installation Company Award).
