ANFALUM gathers the European lighting sector in the UNE's headquarters

​​​​​​​​​​​​On Thursday, 4 April, the headquarters of the Spanish Association for Standardization, UNE, hosted a conference of Lighting Europe, the Federation of Associations of the European Lighting Industry, organized by ANFALUM (Spanish Association of Lighting Manufacturers), a UNE member and the sole Spanish member of Lighting Europe.

The Conference was opened by Alfredo Berges, Managing Director of ANFALUM and President of UNE, while the closure was entrusted to Francisco Pardeiro, President of ANFALUM, who noted the important role that this Association plays in defending the interests of lighting manufacturers.

Several presentations were given on topics of interest to Federation members. Javier García, UNE's Director General and Vice-President of ISO, explained the contribution of the entity and of standardization to the competitiveness of the economic and business sectors; Paloma García, UNE's Director of Standardization Programmes and Stakeholders, discussed the role of standards in defining sustainability indexes; Elena Scaroni, Secretary General of Lighting Europe, spoke about this Federation and Europe's new lighting strategy; Teresa Selvaggio, Director of Public Affairs and Sustainability at Lighting Europe, explained the EU's legislative landscape on the circular economy; and Javier Mejía, AENOR's Marketing Director, spoke about sustainable building and the Ns Mark.

ANFALUM is a founding member of the Spanish Association for Standardization and is part of its Governing Committee. It leads the development of key standards to enable its partners to compete. Created in 1981, it brings together manufacturers of luminaires, light sources, components, lighting regulation and control systems, lighting poles and columns who represent the entire Spanish sector.
