Field of Activity:
Standardisation of:Geotechnical aspects and activities in the field of civil engineering and building, including the properties of soils related to these aspects. Standardized geotechnical activities include but are not limited to: soil description and classification, laboratory testing, sampling techniques, field testing, instrumentation methods and geophysical testing. The procedures for carrying out special geotechnical works, including the testing and control methods for such procedures, and the properties of the materials required for such works. Special geotechnical works include, among others: special foundations, piles, micropiles, anchors, screens, injections, sheet piling, and different methods of ground treatment and improvement, as well as containment and stabilization of slopes and hillsides.Geotechnical classification procedures and use of alternative soils and materials, execution, quality control and monitoring, in the field of excavations and earthworks (broadly conceived as works and works on and with soil and rock type materials) and the geotechnical aspects of hydraulic backfilling. Excluding:Geotechnical design aspects standardized by the Eurocodes.Aggregate aspects standardized by the CTN-UNE 146 committee.
