The ISO 45001 has been published

Standard ISO 45001 is now available. This is the culmination of the work performed over the last five years by more than 100 experts in 70 countries, including Spain via the Spanish Association for Standardisation, UNE

This document applies to any organisation, irrespective of size, industry or nature. The main advances include the strengthening of the senior management's role in leading the Occupational Health and Safety Management System, as a relevant part of its business strategy.

Similarly, it presents a high-level structure common to the most widely-used management documents in the world, such as ISO 9001 (Quality) and ISO 14001 (Environment). This will, therefore, facilitate its implementation in organisations that already hold this certification.

ISO 45001 replaces OHSAS 18001. Companies certified under the latter standard will have a period of three years to migrate (up to 12 March 2021).

This document is available in Spanish, English and French on AENOR's website.
